Co-financing
Have budget constraints prevented your publication from submitting entries for
the National Magazine Awards?
We may have the solution. The National Magazine Awards Foundation believes that
restricted financial resources should not prevent small, qualified Canadian magazines (both print and
digital) from submitting their best work to the NMA annual competition. In order to ensure that the
contest truly acknowledges the best work in the Canadian magazine industry, the National Magazine Awards
Foundation offers a co-financing plan to help smaller magazines participate.
To be eligible, your print
publication's annual revenue must be below $250,000 (this figure represents all revenues received including
any grants, subsidies or funding from foundations, associations or corporations) and you must meet one of two
circulation levels.
Digital publications’ annual
revenue must be below $25,000, including any grants, subsidies or funding from foundations, associations or
corporations.
The Foundation has a limited
co-financing fund and, to some degree, they are allocated on a first come, first served basis. However, all
successful applicants will be approved for a minimum of 3 submissions (unless they’ve indicated they will only
submit one or two).
