How to Submit
The 2007 call for submissions opens December 10, 2007 and entries will be accepted in-hand by 5 p.m. until January 9, 2008. A late fee of $25 will be applied to each entry received on January 10 and January 11, 2008. Entries will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on January 11, 2008.
There are 37 categories in which you may enter in accordance with the rules for eligibility. Most entries are $85 each and must be entered online and followed by tear sheets couriered to our office.
Submit Your Entries
There are four steps in the submissions process:
1) Log in and post your entries online (opens Dec 10)
2) Select your preferred method of payment (PayPal or company cheque)
3) Print your Entry and Master forms (emailed to you)
4) Package your tear sheets with the printed forms and send them in
Please read through all instructions carefully as changes have been made year to year. Entries must be completed properly to be eligible
Written Categories WATCH THE VIDEO 
Each single entry must have one (1) set of original tear sheets with six (6) sets of stapled photocopies. All photocopies should be 8 ½ x 11 where possible. Please attach an Entry Form (which you printed in STEP 3) to the original tear sheets ONLY.
NOTE: We no longer require the author's name to be concealed on any entries.
Integrated Categories WATCH THE VIDEO 
Words & Pictures must have four (4) sets of original tear sheets with a completed Entry Form (which you printed in STEP 3) TAPED to the back of each entry. PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE.
Magazine Covers must have four (4) unmounted original covers with a completed Entry Form (which you printed in STEP 3) TAPED to the back of each entry. PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE.
Visual Categories WATCH THE VIDEO 
Submit two (2) original tear sheets (do not mount) with a completed Entry Form TAPED to the back of EACH entry (you will need to make a photocopy of your entry form (Step 3 above) to have two copies of it). Spreads must be taped together. If submitting a spread or a section, please tape together with numbering on the back to indicate the correct order. DO NOT STAPLE.
Art Direction for an Entire Issue must have two (2) copies of the entire issue with a completed Entry Form TAPED to the back of the entry. Editor's mandate statements must also be taped to the back of the entries. Restricted to one (1) entry per magazine.
Best New Writer
Each single entry must contain three (3) sets of two (2) original pieces of work with an $85.00 cheque payable to the National Magazine Awards Foundation. Nominations for this award may also be accompanied by a letter of reference from the handling editor who was involved in one of the articles submitted attesting to the writer's contribution and skills.
Best Student Writer
Each single entry must contain two (2) original tear sheets of the submitted article in its entirety plus four (4) sets of photocopies of the piece. Applicants must also include four (4) copies of a cover letter containing contact information, bio, brief statement of career goals, and a description of how the piece came about. Application must include a $25.00 cheque payable to the National Magazine Awards Foundation. Click HERE to read more about the Best Student Writer Award.
Magazine of the Year
Awarded to the magazine that most consistently engages, surprises and serves the needs of its readers. Entrants must send in five (5) sets of three (3) issues; please forward with a completed entry form and $100 payable to the National Magazine Awards Foundation. Editors should include a cover letter of no more than one (1) page with an application. The letter will a) outline briefly the mandate of the magazine and b) summarize briefly the magazine's achievements during the year. These might include examples of compelling packaging, mix, writing and reporting, among other things.
Entry Fees
Your MASTER ENTRY FORM that you printed from the submission process will indicate whether your payment was accepted online or how much is owed by cheque. The fee for most entries is $85.00 payable to the National Magazine Awards Foundation. Send one cheque for the total number of entries submitted. Please enclose the cheque or money order with your entries.
**All payments should accompany submission packages. If this is not possible, then it is imperative that a copy of the Master Form be included with the cheque. We cannot be responsible for matching cheques that arrive without a Master Form. Entries with payments not received by January 22, 2008 will not be sent out for judging.

Awards Presentation
Finalists will be posted on the website no later than April 21, 2008. Gold, Silver and Honourable Mention winners will be awarded at the 31st Annual Magazine Awards Presentation Friday, June 6, 2008.
