Mark Leiren-Young is a recovering journalist and past Western Magazine Award and National Magazine Award winner. He's also a playwright and screenwriter and his first feature, The Green Chain (which he wrote and directed), is being released later this year.

His recent TV credits include scripts for Blood Ties, The Collector and Class of the Titans. He has several TV and movie projects in various stages of development Hell - including a screen version of his play, Shylock.

Mark writes a monthly satirical column for The Tyee and toured Canada as half of the satirical duo, Local Anxiety.
